A Samsung Galaxy S III has exploded in Ireland while the owner was driving, causing a loud bang and some "white flames" coming from the smartphone.
As you can see, there is some clear damage to the plastic on the bottom of the phone and it has also slightly melted. Samsung have responded to this, they have said:
There have been recent online posts displaying pictures of a Samsung GALAXY SIII that appears to have heat-related damage at the bottom of the device. Samsung is aware of this issue and will begin investigating as soon as we receive the specific product in question.
The Galaxy S III exploded whilst plugged into a car dock, and the owner did say that the explosion could be due to "my cars heating system". The investigation is ongoing.
